Renzo Cardosi
Director of Development
Renzo joined Right There in 2015
I’ve worked with Right There for almost 10 years and have enjoyed several roles within the organisation, including Service Manager in South Lanarkshire, Operations and Business Manager across Glasgow West programmes and Head of Development, before assuming the position of Director of Development.
I enjoy leading on the diverse offers of support we provide through diversifying income streams and business opportunities and have witnessed how the organisation can build on, and add value to, our for people, at home and in the community programmes.
Researching and implementing our PIE (Psychologically Informed Environment) framework and delivering training across local authority partnerships was a particularly influential period of time, where Right There became more informed about the approaches that lead to better outcomes for those we serve.
Before joining Right There I worked with young people in Dumbarton, which cemented my love for working with people and communities. This taught me that regardless of personal, local or geographical challenges, everyone is capable of influencing the lives of others in a positive way when supported to find their strengths.
I hold a COSCA counselling certificate which introduced me to a deeper understanding of trauma and relationships, as well as a developing ability to reflect on my own practice – something I’m still mindful of today. And, my love for working with communities resulted in a BA Community Development Degree and 3rd year placement in the Gorbals, which was a great experience.
Thanks to the support of Right There, I graduated from Strathclyde Business School with an MBA in 2021, an experience both rewarding and exhausting as I juggled study, work commitments and a newborn. However, the learning from this continues to underpin my own development and focus every day, as I strive to continually support the organisation to deliver on its mission.
My spare time is spent with two young boys keeping me on my toes. A walk in the park, a fresh coffee and an empire biscuit is pretty much all it takes to keep me happy…and of course the odd holiday in Italy to see family.
“Home for me is a place where I am completely relaxed in my surroundings; where I feel at peace and can enjoy the hustle and bustle of my children looking for their next adventure in the garden!”
