Keeping People Safe

As a reflective organisation, we are always learning to be the best we can be for the people we serve.

We support people wherever they are in their lives – and making people feel safe is paramount in everything we do.

Our programmes are places where people can feel at home, while receiving high-quality care and support to move forward. We put each person at the centre of their own support, as everyone is at different stages in life, with different needs and hopes.

As a reflective organisation, we are always learning to be the best we can be for the people we serve. In addition to our mission, values and person-centred approach, our Duty of Candour is something we adhere to and report on.

The Duty of Candour Act

The Duty of Candour Act was introduced by the Scottish Government in 2019, and legally applies to all health and social care providers in the country. It ensures that organisations, like ourselves, are open and transparent – with any serious mistakes being reported to the Care Inspectorate, and thoroughly investigated. An individual’s loved ones and their wishes are central to such investigations.

As we continue to evolve to meet the needs of those we support, our dedication to keeping people safe – and having them at the centre of everything we do – will remain.
