Welcome to Right There Counselling

At Right There, we know that it’s more difficult than ever for people to access counselling services, which is why we are proud to expand on our longstanding commitment to walk alongside people with our new, innovative counselling service that will help more people access the support they need, when they need it most.

Right There Counselling will provide a safe, confidential and nonjudgemental space for young people and adults to talk openly about what’s affecting their lives, supporting people to feel heard, understood and better able to move forwards.

The service will be available across eight local authority areas in Scotland, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, South Lanarkshire and Inverness. The service builds on our existing counselling provision in Orkney.

Our Counselling Model

  • For people aged 16+ who are already supported by one of our programmes.
  • One-to-one sessions or therapeutic workshops (group sessions focused on wellbeing, emotional skills, and coping strategies).
  • Available in-person in Glasgow and Edinburgh, or online in other parts of the country.
  • Tailored to meet the diverse needs of people that we support.

Who are our Counsellors?

The approach uses a supervised placement model, with counselling delivered by postgraduate counselling students – initially from the University of Strathclyde, Queen Margaret College, Grounded Learning, and the Centre of Therapy  who are closely supported by an experienced Supervising Counsellor.
