Shelby joined Right There in 2023
Prior to joining Right There in July 2023, I served as the Finance Director for a national rugby-based charity for 4 years. Since working in the third sector, I have fallen in love with working for charities, helping organisations whos’ values align with my own, and being able to see how my work can really make an impact in people’s lives-even through numbers!
In my past life, I also served as a Finance Officer in the United States Army, with my last role being a Financial Management Executive Officer. During my time in service, I also deployed to Kuwait to oversee commercial vendor contract services.
I learned a lot about leadership and organisational strategy whilst in the military but am very happy my family found our way to Glasgow and can call it home.
I have been involved in the Special Olympics and disabled athlete organisations from an early age. Having a sister with a disability, supporting people to discover their abilities has always been a part of my personal values, and couldn’t imagine working for an organisation that doesn’t seek to help people along that journey.
