Head of People and Organisational Development
About the Role
We are recruiting for the role of Head of People and Organisational Development to provide strategic leadership and operational management to the HR team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion and continuous improvement. The post holder will develop and implement a People Strategy aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives, ensuring our programmes and the people we support remain at the centre of our work.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Oversee the development and use of HR management information, including key metrics and performance reporting to enhance organisational performance management
- Drive and embed a positive organisational culture and behavioural framework rooted in the values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Aspiration and Reflection
- Oversee the Learning and Development Strategy, ensuring its effective implementation to support organisational growth, leadership development, employee skills and career progression
- Design and implement effective recruitment processes and a comprehensive induction programme to enable new employees to integrate quickly and contribute effectively
- Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of an employment strategy and organisational cultural initiatives the promotes and positions Right There as an employer of choice
- Drive the implementation of Right There’s People First approach, fostering a supportive and psychologically healthy work environment

We are looking for an experienced HR professional (Chartered MCIPD or equivalent) with relevant experience gained across the full Human Resources and Organisational Development portfolio including involvement in the development of an effective People strategy. You will have detailed up-to-date knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and HR good practice with the ability to develop and implement robust people management policies and procedures.

What you can expect from us
We value our staff as our greatest asset and will provide the following working conditions:
- The post holder will report to the Director of Finance and People.
- Your normal working hours are 35 per week, worked Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm, depending on the needs of the service, with 1-hour unpaid break.
- Your core place of work will be 15 Dava Street, Glasgow, G51 2JA. It is expected that this role will be office based c 3 days per week.
- Annual leave entitlement of 210 hours holiday (equivalent to 6 weeks) pro rata per year in the first year rising to 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) pro rata per year in the second. This includes public holidays
- You will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension in the month that you will complete 3 months of employment, provided you meet the auto-enrolment criteria
