Property Sourcing Agent

We are recruiting for a Property Sourcing Agent to join our Short Term Housing programme.  Our Short Term Housing programme provides a link between private property owners and tenants. Our goal is to end homelessness by providing access to privately rented properties, as we believe that this is an effective and long-term solution.

The Property Sourcing Agent will play a vital role in sourcing, acquiring and managing properties that meet the needs of the people we support and the organisation.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Housing Management team to develop and maintain a quality portfolio of properties for both our Short Term Housing programme and Rent Deposit Scheme
  • Identify suitable properties to acquire based on client specifications, business needs and Right There’s values and standards
  • Assist in managing the organisations property portfolio ensuring optimal utilisation and maintenance of all assets
  • Conduct market analysis to stay updated on property trends, local market conditions and potential procurement opportunities
  • Assist with negotiating prices, terms and conditions of property transactions to ensure best outcome for the business and its partner agencies
  • Perform detailed checks on potential properties, including legal reviews, market valuations and compliance with regulations
  • Oversee the preparation of leases
  • Monitor procurement budgets to ensure financial targets are met without compromising on quality or compliance

What we expect from you

We’re looking for someone that can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the private rented housing sector with work experience gained in a lettings/property management setting. You will also have first class customer care skills with experience of managing communication with landlords and partner agencies. Excellent IT skills are required with proficiency in MS Office as well as excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing tasks.

A full UK driving license and access to a car for work purposes is essential. (Please note employees must hold insurance that covers domestic and business use?`

What you can expect from us

We value our staff as our greatest asset and will provide the following working conditions:

  • The post holder will report to the Housing Services Manager.
  • Your normal working hours are 35 per week, worked Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm, depending on the needs of the service.
  • Your usual place of work is 17 Dava Street, Glasgow, G51 2JA. The role involves lone working and travelling in your own vehicle between properties and being out in the community. Lone working policy in place.
  • Annual leave entitlement of 210 hours holiday (equivalent to 6 weeks) pro rata per year in the first year rising to 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) pro rata per year in the second. This includes public holidays
  • You will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension in the month that you will complete 3 months of employment, provided you meet the auto-enrolment criteria
